A Lindale couple, James Jeremy Forsyth, 46, and Amanda Anne Forsyth, 46, were arrested this week at their home on Spring Circle after reports said they starved.
Reports said that the couple starved and then deprived their 13-month boxer mix of any veterinary care.
Police said that the dog, Rose, was evaluated to be a level 1/9 on the Purina Body condition system, weighing only 29 pounds. Reports added that the dog’s ribs, lumbar, vertebrae, and pelvic bones were all evident from a distance, with no discernible body fat or muscle mass. Rose also suffered from heartworms, whipworms, and hookworms.
Forsyth is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
