Tiffianey Jean Vyette Redwine, 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she slapped a 9 year-old child in the face.
Reports went on to say that the child suffered from bruising to the face.
Redwine is charged with simple battery and 1st degree cruelty to children.
