Brantley Edward Folsom, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week on drug and traffic charges after leading police on a chase near the GA 1 Loop.
Officers stated that while attempting to pull Folsom over for failing to maintain his lane he proceeded to drive a short distance before pulling over and jumping out of his vehicle.
Police said that a k9 officer was dispatched and Folsom was soon found hiding in the woods.
Reports went on to say that he was then allegedly found in possession of a meth pipe and marijuana. Folsom is also accused of opening his drug bag and tossing it in the bushes.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug related objects, obstruction, tampering with evidence, fleeing a police officer and driving on a suspended license.
