Demonte Devone Jones ,28 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he crashed his vehicle into a fire hydrant while under the influence of drugs.
Reports said that during an inventory of the vehicle following the crash officers located a glass smoking device containing methamphetamine.
Officers added that due to the manner of driving it was believed that he had been under the influence at the time of the wreck.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Duggar and Burr Drives.
Jones is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug related objects, DUI, failure to maintain lane, not wearing a seat belt, speeding and four counts probation violation.
