Darius Rashad Gibbons, 32 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he injured a 34 year-old woman during an argument at a home on Grove Avenue.
Reports added that the victim suffered visible injury from the attack.
Police went on to say that Gibbons was also found to be illegally in possession of a firearm.
Gibbons is charged with battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
