Joie Lana Gowens, 60 of Dallas, was jailed in Rome this week after reports said he lied to police about his identity while being questioned at the intersection of Martha Berry Blvd and John Davenport Drive.
Reports said that Gowens signed a traffic ticket with a fake name during the stop on June 5, 2020.
Police said that while being taken into custody he was found with a schedule II drug as well as drug paraphernalia.
Gowens is charged with first degree forgery, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and failure to appear.
