Officers with the Polk County Uniformed Patrol Division we’re on patrol in the area of Antioch Road / Johnson Circle. Patrol Officers observed a vehicle with a taillight violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, identified as William Whatley (37 year old male), the officer smelled the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle.

At this time, a Deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene with a K9. While the Officer was completing administrative actions during the traffic stop, the K9 Handler conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle.

The K9 alerted on the vehicle. During a subsequent Probable Cause search of the vehicle, approximately two ounces of suspected Methamphetamine was seized from the traffic stop. Two subjects (listed below) were placed under arrest. Our agency also filed for seizure on the suspect vehicle.

“Our department is committed to combating the drug problem in our community through proactive policing, interagency cooperation, and help from our community. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law,” said Polk County Police authorities.

Whatley, 37 of Cedartown, is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of drugs with intent to distribute and tag light violation.

Bollen, 36 of Rockmart, is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute and distribution or sell of a controlled substance.
