Dewey Wayne Pledger, 68 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he held a woman against her will and proceeded to place a gun against her head, placing her in fear of her life.
Reports added that he then prevented the woman from calling 911 for held.
The incident occurred at his home on South Broad Street.
Pledger is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and acts, false imprisonment, and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
