Andrew Dan Smith, 44 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he stole 15 sheets of Advantac plywood from a construction site on Pleasant Hope Road in Silver Creek.
Police said that the wood was valued at $1,525.
The theft occurred back on August 16th.
Officers added that they located Smith on the 400 block of East 19th Street and attempted to take him into custody. They went on to say that Smith attempted to avoid capture by fleeing on foot. He was arrested after a short chase.
Smith is charged with felony theft by taking, obstruction and probation violation.
