Micah Kelly Whittington, 21 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke into a home on Sylvan Street and proceeded to steal a Taurus G2 handgun, a Ruger charger combine, several hundred rounds of 9mm ammunition, a backpack and a cell phone.
Whittington allegedly entered the home, in which he formally lived in, through a window before stealing the items.
He was later found at the Waffle House on Shorter Avenue in possession of the stolen gun and cellphone.
Whittington is charged with burglary is charged with first degree burglary, felony theft by taking, felony theft by receiving stolen property and probation violation.
