A $635 million dollar agreement has been signed that will allow AdventHealth to take over Redmond Regional Medical Center from HCAHealthcare. The move makes the fifth HCA Healthcare’s hospital that has recently sold. The transaction is anticipated to be finished by August 31.

“We are excited about the opportunity to offer our unique promise of whole-person care and look forward to working with and caring for the team members, physicians, and residents of northwest Georgia and the surrounding area,” said Terry Shaw, president/CEO of AdventHealth, in a statement. “By affiliating with Redmond Regional Medical Center, we will be well positioned to continue providing excellent care in the community.”

When the deal closes, the move could remove Redmond Regionals property from the county’s tax role. The result would mean major cuts to both city and county schools.

Currently Redmond pays $588 thousand a year on personal property and $790 thousand dollars on property and buildings.

AdventHealth is a Christian based hospital system based out of Altamonte Springs, FL. They currently operate hospitals in nearby Gordon and Murray counties.
