A 17 year-old Cartersville teen, Dakota Lee Simmons, who was arrested earlier in the week for breaking into over a dozen cars in Bartow County was booked into the Floyd County Jail to face charges for an incident that occurred last month.
Reports said that officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop for speeding on March 18th at the Loop and Calhoun Road when he attempted to speed away.
Police went on to say that after finally pulling over he jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers added that they recovered marijuana.
Simmons is charged with speeding, attempting to elude police, obstruction, driving in an expired license and possession of marijuana.
