Elizabeth Shelton Alford, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after a search of her vehicle led police to a bag of suspected heroin.
Reports stated that the drugs were located in the front center console.
Officers went on to say that they located a firearm in her possession as well.
The search was conducted at the intersection of Morningside Drive and Ga 20.
Alford is charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
