Jovaun James Campfield, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stalked and then proceeded to beat a woman in the face at a home on Maple Avenue.

Reports said that the attack occurred back last November.  It was later determined that the victim had previously taken out a protection order against him in Buffalo, New York.  The victim told police that the two moved to Georgia to “have a fresh start”.

This week, officers stated that Campfield was again found at the victim’s home, which violated her protection order.  This time, while being taken into custody he refused to get into the patrol car.

Campfield is charged with battery, two counts aggravated stalking and obstruction.
