James Floyd Simpson, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after a traffic stop led police to find methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Reports stated that Simpson was stopped for a cracked windshield and when he pulled over he fled the scene on foot.

After a brief chase, police said that they found him in possession of methamphetamine.  It was then discovered that Simpson was wanted on numerous other warrants.

While speaking with a passenger in the vehicle officers stated that they discovered a glass smoking pipe in the floorboard of the vehicle.

Simpson is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug related objects, obstruction, driving a vehicle on a suspended registration and a busted windshield.
