Zachary Daniel Chastain, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs and a gun while being stopped for running a redlight at the intersection of W 1st St and Riverside Parkway.
Reports said that after stopping, officers detected that Chastain was driving under the influence.
A search then led officers to find an opened container of alcohol, a glass smoking pipe, a grinder with marijuana residue, a marijuana cigarette, a pack of gummy worms containing THC and a loaded .38 special revolver.
Chastain is charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, DUI, open container and running a red light.
