David Robert Downs, 47 of Rome, has been arrested and charged with a break-in at North Heights Elementary School.
Reports said that Downs was captured on surveillance video entering the building and taking items that totaled $5,100 in value.
The theft occurred back between December 12 and 15 of last year.
Downs is charged with felony theft by taking.
