Jacob Thomas Smith, 23 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he burglarized a home on Mount Alto Road and then proceeded to steal a 2003 Mercury Marquis Grand 4S.
Reports said that Smith entered the home back on August 9 of last year and stole numerous items before taking the car and leaving the scene.
Smith is charged with felony theft by taking, first degree burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle, entering an automobile with intent to commit a theft, criminal trespass and prowling.
