Cave Spring police arrested, Debra Christina Phillips, 44 of Cave Spring, and Michael Robert Burnett, 33 of Woodstock, on Hwy 27 at Hunters Furniture on multiple drug charges after leading police on a car chase.

Reports said that after officers attempted to pull Burnett over for a traffic stop on Alabama Street he sped away and in the process ignoring stop signs, failing to maintain his lane and all while driving recklessly.

Police went on to say that after eventually pulling over he was found to have been driving on a suspended license.

A search led police to find methamphetamine and a gun inside the vehicle.

Phillips is additionally accused of attempting to throw methamphetamine out of the car window.  She was also allegedly found with Xanax.

Phillips is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

Burnett is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, reckless driving, stop sign violation, failure to maintain lane, speeding, possession of meth, fleeing a police officer, and acquiring a license plate for the purpose of concealing a vehicle.
