David Michael Day, 57 of Rome, was arrested this week after he severely beat a 73 year-old man in the face with his fist.
Reports said that the victim suffered a busted lip and the loss of 3 of his teeth.
Day then proceeded to tell the victim that “it would be bad” if he called police, before stealing his telephone. Police added that Day then pulled a vehicle behind the victim’s so that he could not leave the home.
Day was later found driving under the influence and with an expired tag.
Day is charged with battery, false imprisonment, obstruction of a person making a 911 call, theft by taking, DUI and an unregistered vehicle.
