Man Jailed in Rome for Buying Car with Counterfeit Money

Ira Jonte McGuire, 25 of Riverdale, was jailed in Rome this week after he allegedly purchased a vehicle using counterfeit money.

Reports stated that McGuire purchased a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban using $2,500 in counterfeit bill.

The transaction occurred back on August 16^th.

McGuire was captured in Lexington County and transported back to Rome this week.

McGuire is charged with felony theft by deception and first degree forgery.
