Rome Man Writes Nearly $3K on Fake Checking Account

Jason Labronne Smith, 42 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said wrote two checks on a fake account at different locations in early September.

Reports stated that Smith wrote a check for $2,464 to the Forrest Place on September 4^th.   That same day he also wrote a check to the Harvest Moon for $500.

Smith is charged with two counts executing checks knowing the information is fictitious, 3^rd degree forgery, 4^th degree forgery and probation violation.
