Mark Thirston Tate, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of synthetic marijuana and a crack cocaine pipe containing the drug residue.

Authorities stated that the drugs were found after he was pulled over for a routine traffic stop at the intersection of West 13th Street and Martha Berry Blvd.

Tate is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, failure to obey traffic control devices, driving without insurance and probation violation.
