Gregory Lamar Finley Jr, 45 of Rome, and Darlene Harper, 52 of Rome, were arrested in Rome this week after a traffic stop on Calhoun Avenue turned up a large amount of cocaine and marijuana.

Reports said that Finley was stopped for driving with a broken tag light. While conducting the stop, officers found that Finley’s license had been suspended.

Officers stated that Finley then refused to comply with them by not giving them his hands to be cuffed. He then allegedly refused to get in the car and a struggle ensued.

After finally getting Finley in the patrol car a search of his vehicle was conducted. Officers stated that they located a handgun, numerous bags of cocaine, and marijuana.

Finley told officers that the only item that belonged to him was the handgun.

Harper told police that non of the items belonged to her.

Harper was a passenger in the vehicle.

Finley is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a fire arm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, obstruction, driving on a suspended license and no tag light.

Harper is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
