Charles Vincent Hawkins, 70 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly shot a 30 year-old man in the chest because he was playing loud music.

Reports said that Hawkins went onto the victim’s property on East Drive and discharged a gun, striking the victim in the chest.

Authorities stated that Hawkins admitted to shooting the man because he did not like the loud music that was coming from his vehicle.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Hawkins is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, reckless conduct, discharge of a firearm near a public highway and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
