Cory Alexander Bethune, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly crawled under a fence and broke into numerous cars at Evans Construction on Alabama Highway.
Reports said that Bethune stole an iPad and fled the scene.
Officers used video surveillance to identify the getaway car, which was spotted a short time later.
While being taken into custody, officers said that they found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in his possession
Bethune is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, two counts entering an automobile with intent to commit a felony, theft by taking, and criminal trespass.
