Carlos Escutia Cruz, 17 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he kicked and stomped on a police officer’s foot while investigating a call at the intersection of Broad Street and 2nd Avenue.
Reports said that when officers arrived Cruz attempted to flee the scene it on foot while ignoring commands to stop.
Police added that when they finally caught up to Cruz that is when he kicked and stomped on them.
Cruz is charged with simple assault, two counts felony obstruction and willful obstruction of a police officer.
