Allen Dwayne Boatner, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he grabbed a rock and proceeded to beat a 24 year-old woman over the back of the head.
The incident occurred at his home on Russell Street.
The incident occurred in front of a 6 year-old child.
Boatner is charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children.
