David Evan Cann, 31of Rockmart, was arrested in Rome this week after he allegedly he was allegedly found with drugs and an altered firearm at a location on Shorter Avenue.
Reports said that Cann was found with a handgun that had an altered serial number, less than an ounce of marijuana, a drug scale and a grinder.
Police added that Cann attempted to discard the firearm in the reach of a 12 year-old child.
Cann is charged with possession of marijuana, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug related objects and criminal use of an article with an altered ID.
