Griffin Thomas Henson, 20 of Dallas, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week after reports said he nearly caused a wreck and then fled from police. in a stolen car

Reports stated that Henson sped away at speeds of over 90 miles per hour down Blacks Bluff Road. He eventually turned on GA 411 and entered Alabama before returning to Georgia.

During the chase he allegedly struck a patrol vehicle and attempted to another. The chase eventually ended when he wrecked. However, he was able to escape on foot.

The incident occurred back on May 22nd. He was later captured in South Carolina before being returned to Rome Wednesday.

Henson is charged with two counts aggravated assault on an officer on duty, theft by receiving stolen property, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, four counts speeding, a stop sign violation, display of a license plate and failure to yield.
