Ernest Lamar McConnell, 59 of Rome, was arrested during a police stop on Martha Berry Blvd on drug and traffic charges .
Reports said that McConnell was stopped for driving with no tag light. While stopped it was discovered that he was driving on a suspended license. A police K9 then alerted to the vehicle during an “open air” sniff. A search of the vehicle led police to allegedly find a glass smoking device containing crack cocaine.
McConnell is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug related objects, driving on a suspended license, no tag light, and no brake light.
