Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the June 26th homicide of 41-year-old JonDavid Russell Johnson that occurred near the intersection of Wade Green Road and Highway 92 in Acworth. Investigators located approximately 9 ounces of Methamphetamine in Johnson’s hotel room after he was killed. It appears the homicide was drug related.

Investigators are asking for assistance from the public in locating two “persons of interest” in connection with the homicide. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Krystal Dianna Campbell, 30 of Gordon County and Shene Lucretia Kirk, 33 of LaFayette, they are urged to contact investigators at 770-928-0239 or Cherokee 911. Campbell’s vehicle was found abandoned in a remote part of Gordon County the day after the homicide. Both individuals have active arrest warrants for prior criminal activity.
