Matthew Doyle Fortenberry, 40 of Adairsville, was arrested this week after reports said he was found illegally in possession of hydrocodone as well as a firearm and shotgun shells in his night stand.
The search was done at his home on Adairsville Road.
Fortenberry is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
