Police arrested two individuals, Rebecca Belle Gonzales, 21, and Tiquez Desean Sams, 19, both of Rome at Banty Jones park on numerous felony charges this week.
Reports said that Sams was pulled over in a traffic stop after he was spotted driving in a reckless manner.
After stopping, Sams allegedly moved to the passenger seat before attempting to flee on foot. He proceeded to allegedly attempt to hide a handgun.
The firearm was recovered and was found to be stolen.
After capturing Sams he was found to be under the influence of marijuana and admitted to have smoked numerous blunts.
Gonzales, who was a passenger in the car, was found in possession of marijuana and digital scales. She also told police that she allowed Sams, an unlicensed driver, to driver her car.
Sams is charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving without a license, obstruction, possession of a weapon without a license and theft by receiving stolen property.
Gonzales is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and permitting and unlicensed driver to drive.
