The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office has completed the charges filed against a local man for a recent murder.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, on Wednesday May 6th, 2020 just after 7PM, Jason Monroe Eldridge, 42, of Cartersville, attacked and assaulted 86 year old Calvin Lee on Floral Drive. Mr. Lee passed away from his injuries and Eldridge was taken for treatment at an area hospital after being shot by a neighbor during the assault.

On May 14, 2020, Eldridge was released from his medical treatment and booked into the Bartow County Jail for the following charges: Murder, Exploitation/Intimidation of an elderly person (2 counts), Battery against a person over 65 years of age, terroristic threats and acts (2 counts), criminal damage to property (2nd degree), criminal attempt to commit felony theft by taking, aggravated assault (2 counts), criminal trespass, and burglary.

Eldridge is being held with no bond, pending a Superior Court bond hearing.
