Roy Lee Roper, 52 of Rome, was arrested at the Circle K on Shorter Avenue after he allegedly stole two 12 packs of beer, valued at $15.
Reports said that when law enforcement located him he attempted to flee on foot.
He was later found hiding under brush on another’s property.
Roper is charged with theft by shoplifting, loitering and obstruction.
