Al Douglas Donaldson, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly severely injured a woman during an attack on Southern Street.
Reports said that Donaldson chocked out the victim along with beating her face with the palm of his hand.
The victim suffered injuries to her neck and head.
Donaldson is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
