Dorothy Mae Payton, 49 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole numerous items from the gift shop at Floyd Medical Center.
Reports said that Payton placed the items in her purse before walking out of the store without paying for them.
She was captured at the Economy Inn.
Payton is charged with theft by shoplifting.
