Tylan Dwight McCluskey, 19 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shot and beat another man with a gun at a home on East 13th Street.
McCluskey is charged with aggravated assault.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at approximately 8:00pm, Rome Police Officers responded to a reported shooting at the Banty Jones Park on E. 13th Street.
On arrival officers located a male laying on the ground in the parking lot near a vehicle. Bystanders were attempting to render aid to the male due to a gunshot wound to the head. The male is identified as Calvin Harris, a 28-year-old African-American male of a Rome address. Mr. Harris was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The wound to the head was not critical and he was released the same evening.
Criminal Investigator’s responded to conduct the investigation and crime scene processing. Evidence led the investigators to three suspects. Those suspects have active warrants for Aggravated Assault as follows:
Tylan Dwight McCluskey, DOB 10/12/1999. 5’10. 170 pounds
Timothy Morris Williams Jr. , DOB 05/28/1996. 5’11. 250 pounds
Tevian Markez Williams Sr. , DOB 01/27/1993. 6’2 230 pounds

A black male was shot in the head during some type of altercation at Banty Jones Park on Crane Street near 8 pm on Wednesday night.
Reports said that the victim was both conscious and alert when police arrived.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities are still looking for a suspect(s).
