A 44 year-old homless Rome woman, Kellye Elayne Newman, was arrested this week at the Shoe Box on Martha Berry Blvd afer reports said she was found helping Christopher John Crook, 44 of Silver Creek, commit a theft.
Reports stated that a crack pipe was found in Newman’s bookbag while being an accessory to shoplifting.
Reports added that while being placed in handcuffs Newman resisted officers.
She is charged with party to a crime of shoplifting, possession of drug related objects and possession of a controlled substance.
Crook is charged with shoplifting, felony obstruction and obstruction.
