Floyd County authorities were dispatched to a home on Ridgefield Drive in Silver Creek on New Years day in response to an unresponsive 17 year-old sitting in a vehicle.
Reports said that the teen’s grandmother found her sitting in their driveway with the doors locked. Reports added that the woman called 911 for help.
Authorities arrived on scene and then pronounced 17 year-old Abbie Shetter dead at 11:30 am.
According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor the case is under investigation and the body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
