A two vehicle wreck on the Rome bypass at Turner Chapel Road resulted in a man being airlifted to a Chattanooga hospital.

Reports said that a Ford pickup driven by 54-year old Jerry Potts of Rome was traveling on the loop when a 1999 Oldsmobile 88, driven by 31 year-old Bobby Cain of Rome, traveling on Turner Chapel  Road failed to stop at the intersection and struck Potts.

A 28-year old female passenger in the Oldsmobile had to be extricated and airlifted. Cain was transported to Floyd.

Potts also went to the hospital, but by a private vehicle.

Cain has been cited for failure to yield.
