Jason Johnson, 34, of Rome was arrested this week after being a physical altercation and being found with a stolen firearm.
According to police, Johnson hit the 30-year-old female victim in the face causing swelling to her eye and lip. Johnson and the victim have a child together.
When officers arrived, he was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm, marijuana, and a digital scale with marijuana residue.
When arrested it was found that Johnson had failed to pay his court fees as directed and failed a drug test after testing positive for THC.
Johnson is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, battery, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and probation violation.
