An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Jimmy Durand Jordan Jr, 46 of Rome, is facing additional charges after reports said he hit a female deputy.
Reports said that Jordan hit an officer during a meal, cutting her upper lip.
He is being charged with felony hindering a law enforcement officer, unlawful acts of violence inside a penal institution and misdemeanor simple battery of a police officer.
Jimmy Durand Jordan, 45 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he refused to allow a 65 year-old disabled man into his home.
Reports said that the victim, an amputee, was not allowed to enter the handicap entrance to the home and when he attempted to enter though another door he fell to the ground.
Jordan is then accused of not letting another person call for medical attention for the victim.
Jordan is charged with criminal trespass and two counts exploitation of the disabled and elderly.
