Bartow County deputies were dispatched to a location on Highway 61 in Cartersville on Monday afternoon in reference to a domestic incident that allegedly occurred at a residence on Sequoyah Trail in Cartersville.
Amanda Wiley stated that her boyfriend and nephew jumped her at their residence. Wiley did have a red mark on her lip. However, due to an active warrant through Cherokee County, Amanda Wiley was arrested.
Upon BCSO relocation to the residence, the boyfriend stated that after he told Wiley to leave in order to avoid an argument, Wiley jumped on him and started choking him. He has a tracheal tube in his neck and said Wiley obstructed his airway to the point that he felt like he was going to pass out.
The nephew heard the fight and said he saw Wiley chocking her boyfriend, so he tried to pull her off of him. He said that’s when Wiley gouged his left eye. At the time of the report, the nephew said all he could see out of his eye after the gouging was a ring.
Amanda Wiley has been charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and aggravated battery.
