Roy Edwin Hilyer, 59 of Lindale, was arrested this week after police said he parked his car and walked to homes on Hawthorn Street while attempting to open the doors in an effort to commit thefts.
Numerous residents caused police after spotting Hilyer allegedly perform the acts.
Hilyer is charged with entering automobile with intent to commit a felony, criminal trespass and loitering.
