Jeremy Fletcher, 19, of Lithonia was arrested in Rome Thursday for being in possession of a gun.
According to police, during a traffic stop o Riverbend Drive, Fletcher was in the back seat of the vehicle when he threw an object out of the window and into a ditch on the side of the road.
Officers proceeded to search the ditch for the object Fletcher had thrown. They recovered a Taurus 9mm loaded handgun.
Fletcher is charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license, reckless conduct, and felony tampering with evidence.
