Christopher Lee Kirk, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he stole checks from a 36 year-old man and proceeded to forge his name to 16 of them.

Reports stated that Kirk wrote checks on the victim’s account from January to August of this year.

The checks have totaled over $3,000.

Kirk is charged with fourth degree forgery, felony theft by taking, mis theft by taking and driving on a suspended license.
