Cortez Eugene Holloway, 29 of Atlanta, was arrested on Crane Street in Rome this week after reports said he stole a 2002 Chevrolet Impala from a home on Grove Avenue in Lindale last Wednesday, August 1.
Reports added that while police questioned Holloway he fled the scene on foot and went inside a home on Grove Avenue without the residents permission.
While inside Holloway allegedly took a social security card, birth certificate and tax forms that belonged to the victim before fleeing the scene.
On Wednesday, August 8, deputies found Holloway at a home on Crane Street. Reports said that he barricaded himself in a bathroom and as a result officers had to force their way inside.
Holloway is charged with burglary, theft by taking, criminal damage to property, and two counts obstruction of law enforcement.
