Hugh Don Smith Jr, 57 of Lindale, was jailed this week after reports said he stole five rings and two watches from Golden Locks.
The rings were valued at $750 and the watches at $150, for a total of $900.
Reports added that Smith returned the rings to the store the next day.
Smith is charged with felony theft by shoplifting.
